THE LESSONS
AND THE YSB APPROACH

Ballet class
The dance world is constantly evolving, and our teachers know exactly what is required of dancers in today's world. Our classes are taught by principal dancers from top European companies. All dancers are different, and everyone has individual needs and levels of training. The exercises are planned and potentially modified to ensure everyone gets the most out of their training with us.
Technique class
The technique class gives students and teachers time to really delve deeper into elements that are technically difficult to achieve. Our teachers will analyse what students struggle with and focus solely on specific elements. For example, many dancers find it hard to master grand pirouettes or grand allegro - our teachers will spend time explaining the basics and give each student their own individual corrections.

Solo Repertoire
Our classes will cover soloist variations from the classical repertoire. Repertoire classes will focus not only on technique and clarity of movement but also on expression. Most importantly, we teach you how to build a true individual presence on stage. Our teacher Ulian Topor will work with each dancer on the solo and give them their individual corrections.
Modern Movement
Nowadays, it is crucial to master not only your classical technique but also modern movement if you want to become a professional dancer. Johan King Silverhult teaches modern movement that ballet dancers will need in their training and career. Not only will his teaching technique help with your modern choreography, but the results will transfer into your classical dancing as well.

Corps de Ballet Rehearsal
For each intensive, we will spend ten to twenty days learning, rehearsing, and perfecting corps de ballet choreography from the classical and/or neoclassical repertoire. It is vital for dancers to learn the rules of corps work as well as learn how to quickly pick up new choreography and learn how to 'breathe' together as one. These skills are vital for any dancer who wants to join a professional dance environment.
Stage acting
Often, dancers get on stage and lose 50% of their quality because of fear and stress. This is a natural reaction, even though it greatly hinders our success. During our stage acting masterclass, we teach you how to fearlessly tackle any role. Learn how to appear young, old, in love, evil, sad, and ecstatic - like a true artist. Understand what makes movement look refined and learn how to play around with styles and inner intention.

Pilates
Pilates is essential to a dancer's training regimen. It improves your stability, flexibility, strength, and coordination. All our classes are geared towards a better command of your body as a dancer. Work on your strength and control with our teacher, Cecile Kaltenbach. As a soloist with Staatsballett Berlin and a certified STOTT PILATES instructor, she knows what dancers need to excel.
Audition Photoshoot
In the second week, we bring in a professional dance photographer and transform the studio into a full photo shoot - complete with studio lights and a high-speed camera. Each student will have 2–3 poses captured, perfect for future auditions - and it’s all included at no extra cost.

"SEE YOURSELF NOT JUST AS AN ARTIST - BUT AS THE ART ITSELF."
THE YSB APPROACH
GROUPS OF MAXIMUM
22 DANCERS.
BASED ON LEVEL AND
NOT JUST AGE.
AT LEAST 3 LESSONS WITH EACH TEACHER TO ACHIEVE REAL PROGRESS.
ACTIVE AND TARGETED CONFIDENCE BUILDING. BOTH FOR THE STAGE AND IN LIFE.
Career Focus & Current Industry Insight
We aim to prepare you for a ballet company. Not for schools and not for the comp circuit, but an actual career. Dancers finish YSB knowing what theatres are truly looking for in a dancer, both physically and mentally.

Artistic Transformation & Confidence
We free you from the confines of being a ballet student and transform you into an artist that people won't be able to look away from. You will let go of self-doubt and radiate confidence that shines not only on stage, but also in everyday life. You can always expect total honesty from us and additional help whenever required.

Technique & Artistry
Strong technique and high-level artistry are equally important here, just as they are for professional dancers. Artistry highlights musicality, expression, stage presence, individual interpretation, and emotional connection - the things that make a dancer stand out from the rest. We teach you how to captivate the audience and impress in auditions, from the very first step you take.

Multi-Generational Perspectives
With teachers who have decades of experience and those still performing, we provide a range of perspectives that help you become a well-rounded dancer, always up-to-date on current standards and expectations.

Repertoire-Heavy Curriculum
We believe the fastest progress comes from actually dancing.
We offer three separate, dedicated classes where students are taught how to pick up choreography quickly and rehearse it to performance-ready level in a short time.

The repertoire is versatile and reflects what is expected from dancers today, ranging from classical to contemporary. Students learn to perform both as soloists and move as one in the corps de ballet.

Mastering Self-Correction
At some point, every dancer will need to rely on themselves to keep improving. Dancers are taught to assess themselves and others, building the skills to identify problems and implement the corrections immediately. We emphasize analysis without judgment, teaching a practical, non-emotional approach to self-correction.

Beyond Limits
You will discover what lies on the other side of exhaustion. Our intense daily schedule challenges you in every way, teaching you how to optimize your energy and achieve results faster by working smarter, not harder. You’ll move from studio to studio - classical to contemporary, group to solo, pilates to technique each and even stage acting.

Experience what it’s like to follow a true company-style schedule, rehearsing multiple pieces of choreography each day, with hundreds of corrections to learn from.
